I'll start with saying I've never pulled a transmission. I've got the starter off, exhaust off and driveshaft removed. Do I now need to remove the bell housing bolts or do I have to remove the torque converter nuts hidden under the inspection plate?...I've tried to remove the torque converter...

Can anybody tell me what these are in the pic?...They appear to be 2 huge rubber bumpers attached to an exhaust bracket. I couldn't even imagine what these would be for image post - - - Updated - - - They are right behind the transmission pan attached to a bracket that holds the exhaust up.

I, for the life of me, cannot get a socket on the top bolt that connects the cat to the exhaust manifold on my 97. I've tried a long extension but it hits the frame and doesn't get on straight enough to grab. I've tried a flex extension which was a joke, and I've tried a long wobble extension...

So the rear window seal on my new mark is in nearly perfect condition and I'd like to keep it that way. Any recommendations on a product to use on it? I was thinking armorall, lexol, or tire shine? I'd like to keep this: (my 97) And prevent this: (my 94) photo hosting

I'm reading in a tccoa tech article that the output shaft was made of a stronger material starting in 98. I see a lot of shafts for sale online but none seem to say what year they are from. Is there any way to verify that it is a 98 or newer shaft without just taking the sellers word?

Can anybody recommend a good machine shop for me? I live in Lima, oh. There are a few shops pretty close to me, and even a dealership in town that says they can do it

Do you think a stock rebuilt transmission from a 94 mark viii would be ok for around 400hp as a daily driver. I'm a pretty abusive driver on a regular basis. What modifications would you recommend? Any good links you can point me to?

IV been hunting for a 2nd gen mark viii WITHOUT a sunroof. I've looked at probably 15 online and have yet to find one. Do these even exist or am I wasting my time?
