'03 Mark VIII

Yesterday I was loading some purchases into my '98 Mark VIII CE in the parking lot of the Home Depot when this lady in late model Honda pulls up and says, "That's a beautiful car, is it a new '03 model." I replied, "No, it's a 1998 and it was made the last day they made Mark VIII's."

The lady's comment made my day. The Mark VIII is a great timeless design.

That's great! I love it when people do that. They do come in all shapes and sizes, though. Once, back in 95-96, I had a guy ask me if my 1987 300ZX was a "new" Camaro!

RE: '03 Mark VIII

At Carlisle last year when we were all lined up to go on he cruse I heard a spectator say "there goes those new Lincolns."

RE: '03 Mark VIII

yeah, people are often shocked when i tell them its a 96. they usually think its a 2000. i have yet to hear 01, 02, or 03.

RE: '03 Mark VIII

Happens to me a lot too. It really makes you proud that we take such care of our cars. I bought a 2003 SUV and the shine on my Mark was better than the 03.

RE: '03 Mark VIII

In february I was looking for a car for my sister and I pulled into a used BMW/Mercedes dealer and the salesman asked me if I was going to trade that brand new Linclon in! He said he was surprised that it didnt still have 20 day plates on it! I was out checking out Bimmers and Benzes, and all the sales people were checking out my car!! I just laughed at them...

RE: '03 Mark VIII

When I first bought my Mark 2 years ago, I took it to my father's house. He has only driven lincolns for years n years, although only town cars. Until about 2 weeks ago, he thought I bought it brand new.

RE: '03 Mark VIII

Well you know Alex, I've gotten that alot. I've never gotten '03 mind you, but I have had many a person dumbfounded when they find out my Mark is a 95.

But of course I do own the sexiest Mark VIII in existence.

hmmmmm can anyone guess who I am?

;)

RE: '03 Mark VIII

Almost evryone I know thought my car was like a 98-99 (93 mark VIII). It's strange how they look compared to other cars of the same era... like they were designed way ahead of their time. I like it though :)

yes, im very proud of the features found on the mark. Truely a car ahead of its time. It would of been great owning one back in 93 black/black/chrome, I would be king of the world http://www.crownvic.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/joy.gif

RE: '03 Mark VIII

Had I guy stop next to me today and thought my 97 mark was a 02 or 03 model. he wanted to swap cars even up. he has a 99 town car. Like town cars alot, but love my mark more.

RE: '03 Mark VIII

Ok, sorry to derail the conversation, but I want to back the fun train up for a minute here...

Attention Kevin DeTrude!!! Are those "chrome" snowflake (aka lacyspoke) rims on your car?

Maybe a larger picture is in order... :D

What the...hey they look so much nicer with a reflection on them. I might do that to mine and keep 'em around a bit. How much to do that?
