everything has power, lights, radio etc. works but engine wont crank, no clicking or anything. Could it be a battery cable or possible starter or somthing else?

Have you put a meter on the battery and see what the voltage is when you hit the start button.? Use a battery jumper cable and ground the battery ground to the engine... Have you tried to jumper it to another car/battery yet?

I dont have a meter to check it out, not even a test light. But I did try to jump it with another car, since the battery is currently dead and no luck starting. I cleaned the battery and cable connections, no luck.

If your interior lights etc work and you have a "click" Its not your battery that is causing a no start condition.

i havent had a chance to really look it over but i talked to the guy i bought the car from and he said the yellow wire going to the starter was melted and bubbled looking so would that be part of the solenoid wiring? and how would i fix something like that? thanks for all the help

Sounds like the solenoid is toast and started to draw too much current.

Remove the starter and have it tested.

Check for voltage on the solenoid wire when key is turned to start position.

Check and clean the ground wire(s).

Replace any 'burnt' or corroded wiring.

Do Chysler's have starters where the solenoid and starter are basically integrated?

But I second Driller's suggestion, remove the starter and have it tested. Then move on to check some additional wiring and then the ignition switch

Yea they're together. Didnt see any bad wires from where I could see, mechanic thinks either ignition switch, neutral safety switch, or starter. Hoping to get it fixed this weekend.
