2000 with 2001+ Console?

I just got a 2000 Lincoln LS with the sport package on it, and haven’t found anything bad to say about the car as of yet. My only complaint is the center console is a bit scratched and faded, which isn’t the manufactures fault, mainly the previous owner. With that said, I figure ill just replace it with a new one. I found a few replacement consoles, but my main question was can I purchase one of the 2001 center consoles and toss it on a 2000? Any help is appreciated and if you know of a trusted site where I can order one from that would be ideal!

RE: 2000 with 2001+ Console?

I did encounter a disapoint thing with the LS in regards to the center console. My main issue is the lack of practicalty with using the center console for anything but holding change. The arm rest storage container leaves a lot to be desired as it can barely holde anything but a couple pieces of paper. I am thankful that most fast food restaurants have recognized that not all cars have a ginormous cup holder and have released the slim bottol on their cups. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to drive holding on to my drink because it simply would not fit in the cup holder.

I guess storage in this car completely has been disappointing. The glove box with the CD changer barely fits the manual!

Has anyone else found this to be an issue or is it just me?

Is the center console any bigger in newer models?

Regards,
Keith
