88 TC 5.0 vs. Mustang 5.0

I have an 88 Town Car and I was wondering if performance 5.0L Mustang parts would directly fit on to my engine without mods? I know there are many parts out there for 5.0L's and it's easy to find parts for the Mustang, but for example the intake manifold is backwards between these two engines.. This whole intake thing is kinda weird, I don't know why they flipped it. If I bought an performance intake manifold for it would I have to change the throttle and tranny linkages to the mustang setup being that it is made for a 5.0L Mustang? and if so, would it be a hard modification? I guess I'm looking for ways to hop up this stock engine for more performance without swapping engines or spending lots of money. Any knowledge or ideas would help my situation.

i'm sure just about any 5.0 intake will fit, but it's hard to say what else you'd have to modify to make it work without seeing the car.
