my air ride compressor quit working so first I checked my fuses and a 30 blew but i don't know if it goes to the air ride or not. so I put a new one in and still didn't fix my problem. then I took off the main wire going to the compressor and its not getting any juice either. I also checked the air ride switch in the back to see if its getting juice and its not getting anything either.. so I have no idea.. all my fuses are getting juice except two 10's.. and i don't know what they go to and why they wouldn't be getting juice.. if anyone can help me out Id appreciate it. my email is vulcan913@yahoo.com if that will be any easier..

Here's a good site to read up on how the air ride works and how to troubleshoot it:

http://www.americanairsuspension.com

When you check for voltage at the compressor you need to make sure that the system is calling for the compressor to run. If you get a "check air ride" message, the system shuts down.

You might just have a bad compressor relay. It's a solid state relay near the air compressor. You can try swapping it with the ABS relay located in the driver's fender under the plastic inner fender, towards the front of the car. They are the same part. Also, check the wire connections to the relay for corrosion.

Your fuse locations are in the owners manual. If you don't have the manual, you can find one online (sorry I don't have that link).

Driller's got the fuse diagrams somewhere! I wonder if he's "spamming" his question to the other forums, hence the reason he supplied his email?

Sounds like you found your problem. Make sure you don't have a leak in the bags. Those relays don't burn out for no reason.

Good job, glad to hear that you found the problem.

Max is right, there is usually a reason that the relay goes bad. I replaced my relay about a month ago but, my compressor sounds like it's on it's last legs. If I don't replace my compressor soon, I'll probably lose another relay.

In my case, I know I have no leaks, but leaky airsprings can wear out a compressor and relay too.

air bags..

air bags..

ya the rear end on my car likes to leak out sometime's it will last a day or two, and other days it will drop the minute I park my car. whats a good way to find the leak.. would it be the bags or the lines.. also Idk if you would know. but my door ajar light wont go off and I try wd-40 on the latch.. well thanks for the help..

Use soapy water on the bags. You may have to do it several times as the bags generally develope small craks in the rubber at the creases. Keep squirting.

Try again with the WD40 on the door latches....it may take a few days for it to soak in and free the switches....

I think I blew another relay and its only been a week. Is there a reason besides the bags bein bad that would make the relay pop so soon.
