A Custom Grill for a 2nd Gen

While I have some limited Photoshop skill, I am hoping some of you guys will help me out on this one as I don't have the skill to do this just yet.

I have a picture in my mind of a black honeycomb Mark VIII grill. It would be similar to the honeycomb I see on many Ford trucks such as the F-150 and some Ranger Models. It would follow the same contour of the existing grill. The Lincoln logo would be placed tastefully in the center.

If someone could mock one of these up, perhaps there might be some interest in making a prototype.

Im sorry Niel but that last sentence still has me laughing.
Like it will ever happen, been there did that with a bunch of items, won't work.

I did a few custom grills for the G2's when I designed my grill and it didn't look ruight at all.

Moe's(GrandLS400) looks pretty good.
Innovative.

Ya, I know you went through a lot of pain in the past in this area. You've been there and done that. I just admire the PS work you do and was hoping it might not be too tough to get a visual...

Rock on...

I'd consider a new grill depending on how it looks, and what it costs...

What I meant by that statement was in regards to you discussing it being made, I had been there and done that before trying to get other items made, even Ray couldn't get the indiglo's off the ground.

I wasn't talking about PS skills.

I was saying that I made a few mock ups for a G2 before and it didn't look right to me, I like Moe's because it's suttle and believeable. I wanted something "off the hook" like my grill, and that extreme just didn't look right on the G2's.

Suttle seems to be the only look that fits on the G2's.

Maybe I'll try it again?

Btw, I dont know if you know or not, but mine is not PSed, thats how it looks like in real life. Click on the link in my sig to see more pics. When you dont have an LSC, you gotta work with what you've got :)

Moe, what exactly did you do to the grill? Did you just black out some of the bars or cut them out?

One thing about the gen 2 is that at certain angles in the right light, the grill looks like a big gaping hole. You can see right into the radiator. I expect it's more noticable on a black one though (like mine). Putting mesh behind the bars would improve the looks I think. Geno or anyone, where would one get that kind of mesh?

Well, one day I had some extra Black electrical tape, and just taped some of the bars in some pattern I made up. After a couple of weeks of rain, and dirt, the tape losses the Gloss, and looks invisible, even from up and close. One good thing about it that it takes only about 10-15 minutes and completely reversible.

About a week ago, I changed the pattern, and made it into one chrome, one black kinda deal, looks good too. I will post pics of before and after soon. It would look 10X better on a black Mark.
