Aftermarket HID kits

A couple of my friends have installed aftermarket HID kits on their cars, one on a Corolla, one on an XB. I was pretty impressed with them. I am thinking about buying a set for my 95 Mark VIII, but I am wondering if it will make the warning on the message center go on. Anyone know if it will?

my aftermarket HID system works properly, if they don't light the warning indicator tells me so and when I switch them on it clears. Hope thats what you mean

It did on my 93. Get the kit and try it. If you get the check exterior lamp message, either press reset and ignore it or, if it bugs you, cut the brown with blue stripe wire (US models) on the check lamp module, located inside the top left of the glovebox opening. You may want to do the multifunction switch mod also, to allow your lows and highs to come on together. If so, then you will need to remove the MFS and splice the wires for pins 13 + 15 together. Hope this helps!

hey brian what part of hernando are you in, im on thr pinellas, pasco line. i put an aftermarket hid in my 93 you arent far away if you want to see it at night in person your more than welcome, i have a shop right on us 19 in tarpon springs. its my home away from home,

Does anyone have pics of the light pattern these conversion kits put on the road?

If your going into a halogen housing the patter is pretty much the same, just brighter. The lens does the work of putting out the pattern, not the lamp. In a clear HID housing the focal point becomes critical though.
