anyone no whare i can get new air bag struts for the front of my mark viii for cheep ??? ford here wants 900$ each i told them to piss on it
 
Only Ford sells new. Get ones for 97/98 model year. They are A LOT cheaper. Also, check out Torrie at fastpartsnetwork.com Probably the best price you can get. Anything else is rebuilt. If you go that route, follow driller's link - do not go Arnott!
 
If you want original FoMOCO then they are about $600, otherwise follow Driller's link as Eddie has been servicing our needs for a long time. He also represents a line of brand new units that came out from Arnott and the are good units and are about $165 each.
 
no the Arnott stuff is complete trash dont wast your money on there stuff. the Arnott compressors last about 2 weeks if you get a good one, the front struts last about 8-9 months and so far im going on about a year on the rear bags but they are leaking pretty bad. i finley spent the money on a new ford compressor and its going on about 2 years now and still working fine. i have since went to coils on the front of the car but i still have the bags in the rear.

unity so the newer 2nd gen mark front struts will bolt onto the 1st gen marks? if so i would like to go that route ad i would like to get air ride back all around this thing so it rides like a mark again. if i can get them for a descent price new from ford i would do that but if not ill just stick to the coils.
 
dave i have a pair of nice clean 2 nd gen front struts listed on ebay right now, you wont get them cheap if you go new! and yes they do bolt right in, they last longer because the casing is plastic instead of metal so they dont rust out. they are a few lbs lighter too.
 
All compressors from American Air are rebuilt by Eddie himself. As a matter of fact FoMoCo has been investigating his rebuilds as they are out performing their new units. Outside of spending the big dollars for factory components it doesn't get any better in my book than going with American.
 
I will always get new OEM struts, but NEVER the compressor. Eddie is for sure the way to go with that. But why would Ford be "investigating" his rebuilds?
 
Interesting... and I have not been to MarkVIII.org in ages... I see they are still using the oldest forum software possible. Yet it is easy to read.
