Air Ride Warning

Hi everyone -

I bought a 98 Pearlescent White with 60K miles around Thanksgiving.

It's pushing 70K now, and the air ride system is maxing out the front air bags, continuing to run until it flashes the warning and shuts down.

I've seen the $500 weekend strut and coil replacement solution on this board, but was hoping there was an easier (and cheaper) fix.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

RE: Air Ride Warning

Have you checked the height sensors? They are the black pieces of plastic connected to the a-arms and a bracket by a small ball retainer and they look like a little shock absorber. these little ball retainers rusted and broke off the bracket on my '95 which let the height sensors hang causing the bags to pump up like an off roading mark viii. Anyway, just a suggestion. Good luck.

RE: Air Ride Warning

Thanks - as soon as the latest snowfall melts I'll check it out.

Just finished replacing the calipers, pads, and brake lines, to fix a really, really bad pull to the left on braking. If I read correctly, someone on this board said it can be the lower control arm bushing?
