 I think I like to come here just to b*tch around HAHA..

My air suspension light came on..seems my front continues to lower.. alot more than it has ever.. but As long as.. I run my car for some dayz HAHA.. no not really as long as I run my car for about 10 minutes or more it seems to be fine..again.. I don't want to have to worry about replacing that.. I fear it may becoming about that time too.. I thought about switching to the spring, but it'z just not the same.. ;( I fear a slow leak, but if that's the case I can't hear it.. and the air bag.. seem to stay filled for as long as I drive it..

that iz all for now..

HAPPY HALLOWEEN FROM ME AND MY MARKY MARX VII

RE: AIR SUSPENSION..

Most likely a slow leak at one of the front bags or possibly a solenoid valve leak. You need to do a "soap bubble leak test".

Those air bags seem to go at the worst time. I don't trust 'em! I switched to coil springs. No worries there! Use performance springs and it rides nice.

The Air Spring Suspension system on our Lincoln Mark VIIs is similar to the tires on any vehicle. The rubber products have a finite life and need to be replaced with NEW rubber products.

Your old air springs lasted at least 14 years. If you would have replaced them with NEW air springs, they too would have lasted about that long.

You know I was seriously thinking about switching to coil springs but now that you made that point.. I just might go for the old hags again.. I mean bags :p

RE: AIR SUSPENSION..

On a Mark VII, it's an old debate.

Those of us that have owned multiple Mark VIIs for many years know that once an air spring developes a problem, you replace it with a new air spring and new o-rings.

If your 1990 Lincoln Mark VII drops down in the front overnight, then your sixteen year old rubber product may need to be replaced. If you take your car to the local shop with only Buicks and Chevys or your Brother-In-Law who believes that he once heard someone say they once worked on one of these, then you'll probably get a repair that may not last as long as one done by a seasoned Ford Mechanic.

So after paying $110.00 per bag and then $35.00 per hour per bag to be installed, plus a few bucks for these o-ring things, you're ready for your repair to last forever. However, there's this phrase called GIGO which stands for Garbage In Garbage Out. Six months later, your bargain installation fails and you're pissed. Every chance that you get, you tell anyone that will listen just how unreliable and expensive air-springs are to maintain. You then spend the very same amount to convert your car to steel springs and for the rest of the life of your Lincoln Mark VII, it rides like a Thunderbird. This is NOT a bad thing, it's just not a Lincoln Mark VII ride.
