Another Update on Phil's Car

Kevin Anderson and I went to Lynn house this morning. Kevin got there earlier and sorted through the stuff. He made piles for her to sell (new Cobra wheel in box and other stuff) and put stuff for the car in the car. I put the computer tap for the OBDII in the back seat.

The plan is Kevin will clean the car up and put a charge on the battery. He's going to try to start it this weekend and do an evaluation on the motor. It looks like the storms we had a couple of nights ago whacked the car and Lynn’s house. There was a roofing guy climbing on her house with a tape measure. I counted three hail dings in the trunk lid. We'll be able to see other dings after the car is cleaned up. Kevin's wife volunteered to wash it tomorrow.

I rented a U-Haul trailer (from the same company I'd rented the trailer in the "One of Life's..." story. They didn't believe I was gonna use it LOCALLY. <sigh> They whined about my cowboy hitch and the 5000 pound plus tow rating a bumper hitch has. Thier computer said a Mark VIII plus trailer is 5200 pounds. I argued I was not pulling a ShotRod Lincoln between New Mexico and Fort Worth and it worked great then. They rented it to me anyway.) We took the car to Kevin's house. Bad, Bad Leroy Blue did a great job, although is that a miss I hear? Hummm.

RE: Another Update on Phil's Car

Since Tuesday I have managed to get the seats back in and all the door panels and covers re-done. I am missing the screws that actually hold the door panel in, but it appears to be holding with no problem. I will try and find screws for it womewhere. I have the Cobra fan and alternator almost ready to go in, as well as the OEM waterpump. I however need a pulley. Myself and Jerry were unable to locate the pulley while at his house on Tuesday. If anyone has an extra one or can locate one for cheap and help out, that would be great.
The car will start, I started it and ran it for about 5 seconds just to see what would happen. Sounded like it had a miss, that will have to be investigated further. The exhaust that he has on this thing is wicked. Who ever wins this car is going to have a nice machine. Phil has has a ton of electrical stuff done to this car which I have no clue about. there is some kind of Gizmo up front that adjust the suspension and he's got the car wired like nothing I've ever seen before. It's got a leak that I believe is Transmission fluid, but have not yet identified it or it's source. The vehicle is well worth the trouble to fix it though. It's got 17" tires and with Cobra R rims and Cobra calipers and cross drilled rotors. the rear end gears are 4:56's. I've raced this car and left me like I was standing still. I can't wait to get her running right and take her out for a spin.

It looks like he was getting ready to go after market in the stereo department, but had not quite gotten there yet. The factory head and amp are still intack and functioning. The glove box I can not quite figure out how it goes on maybe Jerry can help me with that when he stops by to check my progress I'll try to keep u guys updated as I go.

RE: Another Update on Phil's Car

That is a nice thing you guys are doing helping out like that.

RE: Another Update on Phil's Car

Phil installed a Kale suspension control system. That what that box with the switches is under the dash.

According to Bob, this car has never had the plugs or wires replaced. It more than likely could use a plug change and wires.

We need to get that water pump pulley. Anybody have a spare gathering dust??? And the pulley bolts also???

Once we get the pulley installed we can run it long enough to see if the computer will throw any codes.

RE: Another Update on Phil's Car
