Antenna question

I wasn't sure where to post this, so feel free to move it it you have to. All of a sudden today, my antenna started making a loud noise after it has fully retracted. It sounds like the motor is still trying to pull it in, but it is already in. I already replaced it before, but why would it just start making a noise like this? Should I take it apart and see what's up with it?

Hard to tell Steve without being there to experience it. I replaced my mast recently and was surprised when I took the motor out to find so many pieces of broken vinyl strip gear laying around inside the drum that it wraps around. Those pieces can only serve to cause additional problems. I'd yank it and inspect it. It's only about an hour job and easy as pie.

Yeah, I'm curious to see what it is because it was replaced so recently. It's really annoying, so I'll have to get in there soon and see what's going on.
