Antitheft dash light - blink or stay lit constant when locked?

Without going outside and doing it, I'm having a hard time remembering.
I THINK it flashes for while to indicate it's armed.

now you have me curious, I'll be right back
*goes outside*

went outside and got into the car
anti theft light was not flashing.
Started the car and turned it back off...
Exited the vehicle and hit the "lock button" on my remote
The anti-theft light stayed on solid, no flashing.

I know I have seen mine flash before, but I can for the life of me "duplicate" it...and make it flash.

ALSO, I dont think the light "stays on", all night long.. for example
I "believe" it will turn itself off after an extended amount of time.
Because when I go out to my car in the morning, I DONT THINK the light is ON.

I tried closing the door without arming the alarm, thinking that'd make the light flash...as if to REMIND you to lock the car, but alas it didn't.

ALSO if you lock the door with the two far right buttons on the keyless entry the light comes on solid and remains on.

I hope some of this mindless babble actually helped
(back to my cup of coffee)

I know mine fhashes when I open the door and will not stop until i insert the key. Once I locked the car and my freind decided to wait outside so I unlocked the car. They opended the door and after sometime the alarm went off.
When I get out I think it blinks, but not sure for how long it's 36 outside right now I'll check later.

OK, when I unlock the door it starts flashing. Stops when I close the door, But I think it flashed until I inserted the key before I disabled the door chime.
When I leave and lock the light stays on for about 5 min.

Mine will flash when i shut the car off and open the drivers door, it will stay lit once I shut the door and hit the lock on the fob.

The answer is in your owners manual. :) That is if you have one.

The light will flash when the system is not armed, like when exiting the car. The light will be solid when the system is arming itself after you lock the doors. When the light goes out the system is armed.

Oh sure, make it simple! I was just about to go out to the garage to check my car.
