Anyone have info on the 2010 Mustang?

It is going to be out in about 6 months but ford has still not released any pics or specs...

From spy shots it looks like a mild changeover from the current design which is good.

But will the Mustang finally get a 6 speed manual?
The 5.0 was long rumored... should probably be around 330-40 hp?!

Any interior upgrades?

Curious to see how this may turn out... important year for ford with the new Camaro and Challenger out, they have got to compete quite a bit.

Now that these cars have all started to surface (*cough!* 10 months later...), I don't see the Challenger being much of a competitor to the Mustang. Power-to-weight, handling, and such seems to vary a lot from one side to the other. Mustang GT seems to have the R/T beat price-wise (and perhaps performance-wise); the SRT is at a price point well above the GT. Even the V6 Mustangs seem to outgun the V6 Challengers.

The Camaro, however...it seems to nail the gap between both cars. It offers the V6 at the performance level near the GT, including the beloved IRS. And with the SS able to come in for well under $40k, it has the SRT beat hands-down, IMO.

It will be interesting to see if Ford does something to really compete with the SS at all, or will leave well enough alone and stick to what it has now. It seems that with enough option boxes checked, the GT can rise to the same price as a well equipped SS, from what I've noticed on showroom floors. However to compare the Shelby to ANY of these cars, is pretty much just unfair! :p Any other thoughts now that these cars are finally out wandering the roads?

(Now to see if the new Z/28 will ever see production!!)

Wow i forgot i even posted that.

New mustang still has a fairly pathetic 315-320hp or so... out of the age old 4.6.

It really needs a 5.0 and a 6 speed ! Two crucial features still missing.

Along with Live axle this car is a transplant from the 80s... How hard is it to add a 6th gear and get that 5.0 in there?

It's got the looks and interior now... but it is lacking power not to mention IRS.

A fully specd GT is 35k!! And it has less HP than a NISSAN 370Z has a worse transmission small brakes and weighs 400 lbs more...

I am not touching the camaro, it is made by a company that is 90 billion underwater... and owned by the government...

The 2011 models will get all new powertrains.

3.7L V6 ~ 300hp
5.0L V8 ~ 400hp
(6.2L V8 ~ 500hp) No concrete evidence but I've seen this motor in a stang and estimate it to be at this power level, think a new boss edition.
5.4L SC V8 ~ 600hp

6spds all around

6.2 liter?! I doubt it... Ford doesn't make blocks in that size...

Sounds like 2011 is the year to wait for then. Perfect time to swap out the vette by then also ;)

Right...it'll have 2 gas tanks...one for gas and the other for B85. A very high compression engine.

You don't need two tanks. Modern "flex" engines can determine the specific weight of the fuel and adjust accordingly. That's why you can mix E-85 and regular gasoline in the same tank.

Was just stating what the brochure says...it DOES have 2 tanks. The E85 tank is just a small one as the computer adjusts the mixture....

Are they separated tanks for 2 discrete fuels? Or are they joined like "saddle" tanks for the sake of vehicle balance?

Hurrican/Boss 6.2L V8

I wouldn't trust the performance numbers of that, just speculation. Also wouldnt make sense considering:

I've seen the 6.2L in person in a 2005-2009 bodied Mustang, with the 2010 dashboard and a 6spd. Was being shipped to Germany. One of the few perks of working in a warehouse near Detroit Metro.

I'm not sure about pricing, expect to be roughly similer, maybe slightly more.

The "Boss" is rumored to be the new Harley Davidson F150 powerplant. It will likely be available in the trucks/SUVs in lieu of the 5.4L.

I can't see it being available in domestic production Mustangs. Perhaps a limited edition Cobra model? Nah.

Maybe they're gonna build a refreshed Torino.... :p

I like the new mustangs. Just saw one on the road the other day. In 11 years, I will consider buying a 10-year-old Mustang. The mark should be about worn out by then.

All I know is that I've seen one in a Mustang, and it was from Ford...
