Currently I have a set of driving lights installed ($40) H3 55w Halogen ones (Pilot) from Walmart. I guess they are ok but they only give about 30% more light than the stock setup. I'm wondering has anyone tried the PIAA 1100x?? they are really expensive at around $160 a set but i'm really fed up with my current low light set up.
Edit: here is a link http://www.piaa.com/Lamps/Lamp-pages/1100x.html .

RE: Anyone tried the PIAA 1100x??

I have the PIAA 1100x installed behind the grille of my Mark. They put out a pretty decent amount of light, it makes driving at night almost like driving a normal car! They are a bit expensive, but i got them from a disgruntled friend who was employeed at some crappy auto store who gave me them for $20. I have pics of the install, and if you want when i am home from college this weekend I can take night pics so u can see how bright they are. Oh, and before i installed mine, i read somewhere about ppl blowing the bulbs on them in the rain, so i put a small bead of GOOP around to seal it from moisture, but left a small spot to vent, and so far i've had them in for close to a year and havent blown a bulb yet (knock on wood)

Read this: http://forums.tccoa.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34640 - It's a post at TCCoA about some driving lights someone just put in their T-Bird, and if you scroll down into the thread, you'll see night pictures he posted comparing stock headlights with the new setup. 'Pretty amazing, and something I'd definitely do if I still had a Gen 1!

I considered PIAA's once and went with the Hella FF75 - that's the ones I have yet to put behind my grill on the '93. I'm happy to see them so highly recommended. BTW - I paid like $80 for them. Originally, I considered mounting them under the front bumper. But after seeing everyone else's behind the grill, I decided to go that route. Now, I'm just procrastinating.;)

Hmm well that tread is pretty good, but there is one prob, he just put down a picture of how the lights look when aimed at a garage door. Mine look about the same as his, really bright when aimed at the door (2x as bright as my own lights), but once you start driving you can barely even notice them (here the stock lights outshine them). Maybe putting them under the bumper has something to do with it, i'll have to look into that.
