anyone using Red LED tailight bulbs?

anyone switched over to the new digital LED lightbulbs for the taillight and marker lamps? They have a 10 year warranty and are super bright. However the front blinkers go super fast because of the low current taken by the leds to light which gets transferred to the front running lights and blinkers. Aslo you get the check lights message on the stupid screen. Only one push of reset everytime you get into car stops this message...unlike the washer fluid low one that keeps haunting you everytime you go around a corner untill you fill it up. haha The LEDS are pretty cool and i wont be changing the bulbs that often anymore...they dont make the red ones in 194 size yet....only in amber...so i just used the red painted bulbs that ricers put into thier interiors for the tailights untill they come out with the red ones...They are about 12.00 per bulb. But at ten years warranty,,,,it totally seems worth it.

Yea, most heavy trucks and the military is switching over to LEDs for their lower power draw and longer life. I'm not going to bother on the mark, since the car was designed with conventional bulbs in mind, and i'm all about appearing stock (hence "sleeper").

Have you found that they light up the entire housing, or are they much more directional in there light output?

All the ones I've seen, even if they are the type that are supposed to light up the entire housing, well... they don't...

Maybe they've gotten better... I hope, since I'd like to use them...

My brother tried a couple different kinds in his 68 mustang and they sucked. They didn't put enough light out the back to reflect off the housing - it was way too directional, even the ones that were supposed to be reflective.

They look great when designed for, but not as replacements in my experience.

Thanks! I was kind of going for the more elegant look with this new sig pic. The old burnout one was cool, but it was time for something different. I think i'm going to try to get the same shot, but with the headlight on. But the part i like best is the reflection of the sunset in the fender, so i'll have to try to get another shot at the same time of day.
