AOL engineer charged with selling 92 million email addresses to spammers

The article states that "Dunaway is said to have bought the list, and used it to promote his own internet gambling website, allegedly generating up to $20,000 a day."

I would think that with the amount of spam people get a day, almost no one would respond to it. I know I clicked on spam ads to see what they are about early in my computer use, but is has been years since I done it.
