On my Gen2, the factory HIDs finally gave up the ghost. I managed to retrofit a new kit, using a 9006 bulba and it works quite nicely. Just hooked the ballast directly to the headlight plug and no CHECK HEAD LAMPS message.
One problem is that with autolamp on, the lights come on the very instant I turn the key. When I start the car, the headlights go out and thus I get the CHECK HEAD LAMPS message.
What I'm looking to do is to introduce a delay to the autolamp module so that the lights don't come on until after the engine is running. My idea was to build a delay circuit and have power to the autolamp module applied 3 seconds after turning the key to on.
Is this a terrible idea? Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the headlight/autolamp system?
