RE: Blacking out a 1997 mark??

My experience has been that you go get a quote from the highest quality paint shop, and then the lowest priced paint shop in your local area. Ask for examples of work done, take the time to go look at those paint jobs, and then take all the info gathered and then sit down and ask yourself how long you intend to keep the car and exactly what the car means to you. Now you have all the ammo you need to make the paint decision. Keep in mind that the side mouldings can be replaced, as well as the grille, and ultimately you will spend as much, or more money getting the faults covered properly as you will in replacing them with new parts from Five Star Ford. (assuming that you are a member of this club and you purchase the parts with the Lincolns of Distinction Club discount)
Hope this helps.

RE: Blacking out a 1997 mark??

you can no longer get pre-painted side pieces, but you can get the paint to match ones for about 200-250. (i just bought the last pre-painted trim pieces in the country). The LSC trim is different from the base trim, it doesn't look right if you just paint over the chrome strip (like i did).

And make sure whoever does it isn't lazy. It's a bit of work to do the grille and make it look right.

Keep in mind, you get what you pay for.

Yeah, in black!!! C'Mon torredor red!!

good luck...

obviously i didn't check, but if they ain't spraying black, why would they spray some sweet red color?

it looks different? painitng the molding and grill the same factory color as the rest of the car makes it look odd? i dont understand.....
