It should fit. From what I have seen the throttle bodies are the same exterior size. And the fact that I have a Gen II intake in my car with an 01 Cobra throttle body. The MAF should bolt up.

By the way, with a simple $5 from a hardware store and a cheap Cobra housing you can do what I did. All you would have to do is build a box if you are very concerned with engine heat. The Cobra filter housing does an ok job and pulls air from the factory opening.

alright well this kit does come with a box my only concern was the MAF being as they bolt wierd to the stock box, do you have any pictures of yours?

Yes, see above. That is my stock MAF, all you do it take it out of the housing. It bolts right to the Cobra housing but needed that plumbing fitting to secure to the intake tube.

Isnt the factory air box a "cold air intake"? It pulls air from outside the engine compartment, which is cooler than the air inside?

i would just like to have one for show and to have the deep agressive tone when at WOT i know the HP adds arn't significant, and does anyone know if the MAFs that come in the gen II the same diameter as the 99 cobra's?

96-01 cobras came with the same diameter 80mm mafs as mark viii,03-04 came with 90mm mafs

The stock MAF is fine unless you are doing something exhaust wise. The engines breathe fine, its the output that needs work.

i do plan on getting the double X with the expansion mufflers down the road so i guess i should get a larger MAF then?

If you do I highly recommend picking up some 03/04 Cobra manifolds. They are good to 600HP and are A LOT cheaper than headers. They are larger and will work fine. I have them, but I also have an 04 block/heads. However Jeremi did install Cobra manifolds on a Mark. Its a very cheap ($50) upgrade that will compliment the exhaust well without braking the bank. It will also make the exhaust install easier.

i never thought of doing that and that is good advice thanks, how difficult do you think it is to install a pair of those?

Its a bit of pain, I have done them twice so I got a system figured out! :D

But you can do them in place. Soak them with PB Blaster. Plan on using more than a few extensions and universal joints. Deep sockets help a lot.

I think I actually had two socket setups. One was the smaller 1/4"? set. My exhaust was dropped but still in place. Also I was missing a steering shaft.

A shop may be more capable of doing it. But it can be done.

yeah thanks for the advice i appretiate it, i probably will have a shop do it when i get the exhaust done just becuase of the horror stories i have heard of putting headers on our cars ha, but ill have have to take a closer look at it befor i decide whether or not i think i can handle it ha
