Car drifts to right now

I hope this is the right forum. I have noticed that my car now drifts to the right. It is most noticeable after I hit 40 mph. Some background here is I just had the tires rotated and balanced a couple of weeks ago at Discount Tire. It didn't do it before. Do I just need to take the car back and get the tires re-balanced? Bad rim?

RE: Car drifts to right now

I've been thinking about this and I would get a 4 wheel alignment. I surmise the rear wore different than the fronts and now since rotated, the wear pattern on the tire(s)is pulling the vehicle. Be sure the vehicle is at park height and shut off the suspension before pulling onto the alignment rack.

Driller
Yea, I've been thinking about that as well. Just didn't want to pay the extra bucks.;(

new tires would fix it. just rotate the tires back and call it good.

the general tires i had on last year sucked. the car pulled all over the road. i tossed my friends old goodyears on there and it went straight as an arrow. night and day difference.

While back I had this weird thing happen to me. We switched the tires/wheels front to back and replaced the rotors/pads. After tighting the wheels to specs and what not the steering wheel was 10-15 degrees off to one side. Apparently, there were some bad bushings/ball joints/tie rods that after applying some force to lug nuts would cause a small change in the geometry of the suspension. I replaced most of it since then and the problem never came back. If it's not the general tires, which I also think might be the case, then have your suspension thoroughly checked for play.

DaveGenerals are what I have on there now. Interesting.

mine were stock size xp2000a4's. when they were new it wasn't bad but once they got older they really sucked.

i suggest hooking up with another mark or thunderbird owner with different tires and no pulling problem and swapping rims to see if it's the tires.

RE: Car drifts to right now

Are the tires on your car directional? once i put my directionals on, i got a pull to the right. i went to get an alignment since i just put a new tie rod end on, so i figured that might be why.. but they tried to fix the pull and couldnt, told me to put 2 diff tires on the front to do the alignment, once i put my old tires on it went straight as an arrow. they told me that some directional tires pull, while he was tellin me that, they got a call from a tire shop, they put directionals on this car and now it pulled.
I would have just put the tire on the back but my back tires are wider and wont fit on the front. so i'm just gonna live with it, it's not that bad anyway.
If your tires are all the same size i'd just put the tire on the back. then see if the car still pulls or not, then you can tell if it's a bad tire or not.
