CD Changer repaired!

I'm sort of OCD about having everything in my car functioning as it should and did when new.... So, my extremely grumpy CD changer was a big problem.

Took it out, and brought it to my local audio sound shop. They shipped it out and said it went to a few different places before ending up at a SONY location in Texas.

Got it back today, and it works flawlessly, good as new! He showed me the list of parts they replaced...quite a few! But, never-the-less, they can still be repaired and work great!

I dont remember how many Mark VIII CD changers I have thrown away....You can buy one anywhere for $100 or less, guaranteed to work. A repair for $200 seems a waste.

.....the problem is you are spending that for one that works for now, then it stops working. I wanted mine to work good, and work for a long time...and hopefully it will.

It was worth it to me.

Well, I hope it will work a long time too, but my experience with these sony made junkers says that it is unlikely. The reason that I dont just by an after market changer is that the Mark doesnt really have a space to install the remote that is subtle. Where ever you put it, it stands out like a sore thumb. In my earlier Supercoupes, you could take the ashtray out and it would sit right there in the space with the lid closed or open.

I never had a problem with the CD changers. As a matter of fact, I recently put the CD changer from my 205 K mile red 94 into my black Mark.:)
