change your oil folks

recently parted out this car, the 97 lsc that everyone said i should save, 299k miles and i knew the motor was garbage, this is why i part certain ones out, not based on their looks, but based on how it runs, how many miles it might have, i know when it isnt worth fixing, this is exactly why i knew i shouldnt do anything to this car but part it out....

that was the car that we bought, and this is what i found today when i tore the motor apart. its too bad that the guy invested so much money into keeping the car looking good, but totally neglected the most important part of the car. enjoy these pics, lets hope there isnt many people who do this to their car.

its really simple to avoid this, its called changing the oil, if you let your oil go longer than you should, you may have this to look forward to someday, let it be a lesson!!!

wow, probably didn't use synthetic either. When I look down in the valve cover of my 95 with 170k on it, the metal doesn't even have a hint of varnish on it....never mind that crap!

i just parted another 97 last month that had close to the 200k range and i couldnt believe how clean it was inside, like brand new looking. its amazing what miles and care can look like, this thing here was just plain old neglect, he obviously didnt give a crap about the engine, he was more worried about the interior and having the whole car repainted. the sad thing is, he replaced this car, with a silver frost 98 lsc, same interior, same wheels, the same car, only with 66k on it, now that i see this motor i hate to know how he is gonna treat the 66k mark oh well, some people dont have a clue.

This oil change thingy... does it have to be done on Gen 1s and Gen 2s?
Is it still stock if I change the oil?

Honestly don't you feel like getting 300k miles out of that car is good enough? lol There are so many worn pieces on that mark at that mileage that the engine isn't that big of a concern.
