Day 8 with the new V111

I took a vacation day yesterday just to play with the new car.

First, a good wash and wax using some of the products posted on this board - had never heard of a clay bar before - AMAZING results!
I'm going to have to get some pictures. This car is in remarkable shape.

Drilled out the front license plate holder (great tip!). I honestly was going to try to pry it off - OUCH!

With help from this board, I was able to program a 2nd keyless remote and seat setting for the wife who now thinks this car is hers - but I'm the boss of this household (every third Monday from 4:00 to 4:30).

Now I'm ready for the first "good" test drive of my new car.
YOWZA, these things fly and their so good looking!
I have been driving a Pontiac Sunbird, that's right a Sunbird
(2 liter 4 cyl.), since 1991 so you probably understand my being so giddy. Oh, by the way, I gave the Sunbird to my son in law at first light this morning.

Being new to this, I guess what I'm really trying to say is THANK YOU all for the great tid bits of info.

RE: Day 8 with the new V111

I have had my car for about 6 years and I still love it. I too found out a lot of information from posts on the board.

Before you know it you will be buying all kind of great goodies for your car. The more I get, the more I want.

I just had underdrive pullies put on and gears are next.

Congrats on the car and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Congratulations and WELCOME! Now the next thing you need to do is join the club so you can take advantage of the many member discounts from vendors.

Nothing like seeing a happy Mark VIII owner. These are terrific machines with a few minor quirks but ask questions and stay in touch with this board and the LOD and we'll ensure you continue to enjoy it for many miles and years to come. I've had mine seven years and may buy additional vehicles in the future but plan on holding on to my Mark VIII for many years to come.

Quite a step up from a Sunbird! I did the same thing, I traded a '95 Subaru Impreza for my Mark VIII. Quite a dramatic change. Just watch out, you'll never be able to own a lesser vehicle ever again. Those features that seem pretty neat now will become necessities in time :)

Bob,
I know how you feel! When I get up in the morning the first thing I do is look at my '98 LSC sitting in the carport. I say to myself "What an awesome ride"! I've had it since 2/27/03 and have polished it so many times that I can't count them! It's probably the shiniest car in Stone County, Arkansas!
Enjoy your Mark, the board, the help and everything else there is about belonging to the LOD club. And especially, the people that have made it happen and the ones that are willing to share their expertise when you have a problem.......... :7
