Do you use your turn signals?

I do and I think it's only common courtesy. I can be in a turn only lane and I still use them. I change lanes and I use it. I think it's important to let other drivers know your intentions.

I have been all over the Country and it's funny how different parts do or don't. In the South nobody uses them but in the Northeast everyone seems to use them.

I use them almost always.
Its kinda funny how some people just don't acknowledge them. If im turning right and have my blinked.on and there is a car there waiting to pull out on the road im turning off of a lot of times people will just sit there and wait for me to actually make the turn as if my signal wasn't on. In this case I usually slow down to a crawl to make them wait even longer because they're being stupid.
However if it the other way around and someone doesn't use they're signal to turn right, they get the finger, no exceptions.

I always do, as I don't need to slow down to do it. I do it to turn into the driveway, turns in parking lots, just everywhere. A lot of people don't use them and it annoys me immensely. I treat those people as if they were going to go straight. It can really mess up traffic in a few places around here.

Lol I'm sure that's why you do it Bud. :)

I use mine, even while patrolling. I like to set a good example.

I do...but you have to be strategic down here. You turn on your signal in LA traffic, and people now know your intention and do all they can do to block what you'd like to do.

Actually, I do -all th time. I even catch myself using it at a corner where there is NO choice BUT to turn right!! Say to self, "Self you dumb sh--"

That sounds like DC too.....

Lol Bud.

You're spot on there doug. I found it easier to change lanes in my patrol car down there.

True, i do notice in the south, they are optional. Even when the spring breakers cut across a 3 lane highway and then slam on the brakes to pull into a roadside bar/resturant. I like using mine though. Cant wait to get the new mustang sequential ones installed in the Mark. I was riding behind new mustang the other day and thought that looks sweet at night. When they stop, it goes from the center two bulbs cascading out in either direction X 3 bulbs.

I tried that (and still have the kit) on my 95. You'll need to install 3 new sockets to make it work properly.

I do and I think people that don't are idiots.

Some parts of the country have different interpretations of a turn signal though.

In some places a turn signal is a courteous gesture, in others it is an afterthought, and still in others it is a warning - "coming through!". :D

I don't think of this as being stupid, I think of this as being cautious. At least here in Virginia, if you have your turn signal on but go straight instead and someone pulls out in front of you and causes an accident, it's their fault for pulling out in front of you. This is actually more or less what happened that totaled my Mark VIII. I had my turn signal on to switch from the right lane to the left lane, and the girl for some reason assumed that I was turning left, so she went ahead and pulled out - bam. Accident. Doesn't matter that I had my turn signal on and she "thought" I was turning, she didn't yield to the right of way (me) and it caused an accident.

I use my turn signals all the time, except for in a parking lot when I'm turning into a spot (unless there's a lot of traffic in the lot, then I put the signal on). If I'm sitting on a street waiting to turn and someone comes along with their signal on, I'll wait to turn until the car is at least committed to the turn: slowing down a lot, wheels are starting to turn out, etc.

i use them all the time and even in parking lots. plus in parking lots i actually follow the lanes and don't just drive around over parking spaces and let everyone guess where I will turn next.

Everytime someone pulls in front of me or stops to turn without useing them I say to myself
"So stupid they can't work a turn signal"

I like when they cut you off and leave it on. "So stupid they can't even turn it off!" When I was coming back from Sac with the Evergreen, I watched this lady in an Expedition continuously leave her signal on. She would change lanes to the left and leave it on for miles, then change lanes to the right and leave it on for another couple miles. Happened for probably 20 miles! The funniest part is she was trying to drive aggressively and changing lanes a LOT. I laughed because I kept passing her even though I had my cruise set. Obviously she couldn't "read traffic" very well, something that I've gotten pretty good at.
