Door Ajar Message

Ok so i cannot get the close adjar message to go away. The first time i sprayed the hinges, door jams with pb blaser and it went away for 1 day. Came back, i was told to use WD40 instead. I have sprayed both doors heavily with wd40 and the message does not go away. Is it a sensor in the door? If so how do i replace it? Am i doing anything wrong? I have tried it about 3 times letting it soak overnight after opening and shutting the doors several times and just spraying it and letting it sit. Nothing seems to work.

You are NOT sparying in the correct place I don't believe. Spray on the door section itself, where the latch is...actually BOTH doors as if one is doing it...the other will soon follow. There IS the possibility that the PB Blaster messed it.

Yes, you can replace the switch...I have never done it but you'll have to do a search for the procedure. I know it has been posted on here.

It may also be the sensor in the hood. about 1/2 way between the headlight and the hood hinge on the passenger side. Spray that with wd40 also.

Jerm, I just fixed this same problem on my mark. The switch is on the bottom of the latch and comes out by twisting it. When you get it out you can work the plunger with some wd/40. It is a little bit of a pain to access it though. At least for me it was. 6'2'' 300 lbs and a fat arm.

I have been messing around with it here and there, no luck. Can someone please post a pic of where to lube? Thanks!
