I have this problem , after the car sits awhile the keypad won't light up or work , when I open the door the dome light won't come on either but after I start the engine everything starts workin properly for a while after I shut off the engine ?????

The usual culprit is a weak battery - or maybe a loose/corroded terminal at the battery.

Try cleaning the terminals up first - then make sure the battery is charged back up (go for a ride). Then try things out.

If it's still bad - have the battery checked at your local auto parts store. That might be all it is.

Weak batteries and computer cars are full of wierdness.

I've seen this problem posted before and tried to help troubleshoot it to no avail. If I remember correctly, within a certain timeframe, all systems work fine, but after a fixed amount of time passes following shutting down and exiting the vehicle, the keyless entry and illuminated entry systems are DOA. I also believe the anti-theft module was involved somehow.

well i think its fixed it all started after i changed the door locks to not lock when in gear thats when it started i changed it back but it still did it so i did the code thing three times one way then the other so they work now by the way my alarm mod. is not plugged in anymore

Are you saying the anti-theft module has been unplugged the whole time and therefore could not be considered part of the problem?

Maybe it's a Microsoft operating system thing... you make a change and have to reboot it to take effect.

Glad to hear you got it working again.

yes my alarm mod has been unplugged since it got wet 4 months ago the only thing that quit working was my alarm who needs an alarm when you have insurance LOL
