Drag Radial

RE: Drag Radial

I would say it depends on a few things. Are you going to drive with them on to the track, and if so how far?
Then you may want to consider what one wears better and if you get caught in the rain what one will have better wet traction.

If you are going to put them on at the track then get the one that sticks the best.

The NT 555R Drag Radial looks the best, but looks are not every thing.

RE: Drag Radial

From what i've heard, the BFG's last about a week during normal driving, but stick like hell. From my experience, the Nitto's wear okay, but still faster than a normal tire. Nitto's website says you can get up to 15,000 miles on them. I have about 6000 on mine, including probably 60+ dragstrip passes, with a burnout for each one, and i still have some rubber left before i get to the wear bars. The nitto's work surprisingly well in the rain, also, but i'd still keep the speed down if there's water on the road.

I'd say get the Nitto's. They should last longer, and they stick pretty good. I have the 245 50's and i can put down 1.9x 60 foot times at the right track. I wouldn't go with the 255's, you probably won't get the full width on the road anyway.

John:
I've been in your neighorhood, and you better get them on quick to enjoy them as you know what is coming, and we don't want to read about a BAD post.:9

RE: Drag Radial

I've been running the BFG drag radials since May 2001. I've made 70 passes at the strip and have 20,000 miles on them. They haven't had any tread on them in a long time but they stick like crazy. I do not drive in the rain with them since there is NO traction. If I get caught by the rain I creep home very carefully. I've not tried the Nittos. Good luck!

RE: Drag Radial

Last night I heard a voice...

Nittos...

Nittos...

Birthday...

Birthday...

I had to listen! :p

RE: Drag Radial

BFG's hook a little better but they don't last as long and they are more dangerous on the street.
