tons of mods. Reliable daily driver. 90% freeway miles since purchased in July 2003.
It gets phenomenal gas mileage for a DOHC 4.6. In 'econo mode' on my chip, in normal driving, without using a heavy right foot, I can EASILY average 29+ mpg. On long freeway drives without having to alter my speed much, I was able to net 34 mpg on the way to work. Under normal driving, day to day, it would average 28.4 mpg. Now it sees less action, mostly short trips, so it's down to about 22 mpg in STOCK mode.

currently has 178k
No leaks AT ALL! I just replaced the oil filter housing gasket last weekend.

most know this car, many do not. It needs a paint job. Clear coat is failing on all top surfaces except hood and front bumper(re-painted years ago).

InTech 97 alternator cover(in place of stock beauty cover)
Dynomax bullet mufflers
removed resonator
stock pipes and chrome tips(stock turn-downs)

Interior is 100 perfect, shows zero wear, no tears or splits in leather at all. Console lid perfect, as are cup holder and ash tray lids. Factory wood grained' 94
tinted windows
Vent shade side glass window vents

This car starts up fast, warms up normally, put it in gear and drive away. Corners like no other, accelerates hard, shifts fast, but not bone-jarring unless you select increased shift pressure with the chip-then it'll break the tires loose with a bark. It rides stiff because of the rear shocks-I like it that way.

I could type all day about this car, how reliable it has been, how smooth it runs, how nice it sounds, and how clean it is(except for the paint). The interior will blow you away. Slap a paint job on it, and it'll look as good as it used to when Max, Jesse, and others have seen it in person.

I have dropped the price to rock bottom. if you bought this car, you could probably part it out and make more than I am asking for it. But one test drive, and you'ld keep it, and drive the snot out of it. It truly runs better now than it did the day I bought it with 52k on the clock.

Now dont get the wrong idea: I drag raced it twice, but not since the new tranny.(ran 14.96 @ 96 mph with a full tank, and a trunk full of qwap)
and I have lit 'em up on occasion-but not recently, and not regularly. I babied this car, as many here can vouch for.
someone please buy this car and save it from the craigslisters who will destroy yet another Mark VIII.

what it used to be-paint it, and it shall return to this glory:

Good price on the car craig! It is nearly impossible to find Mark VIIIs that were maintained as well as this one.

Best of luck with sale.

To whomever is interested, I have watched this car for over 5 years, and had I not made a commitment to buy a different car, it would be mine...If you go back to the description Craig has given, there isnt a more honest used car for sale anywhere.

What a nice car. Minus the paint. It would be worth it to paint. Even if somebody did all the body work such as sanding and taping i'd bring it to macco. I did all the body work and my old caprice turned out great. minus the rust that i was hoping to go away. lol.. I got the 2nd or 3rd paint option. Cost me around 400 for a 1 stage intergrated paint/clear. The 2 stage is around 6-700 iirc.

Very clean for that many miles. Shouldn't last to long.

I'll give you the honest truth...when I started to try to sell the car over a year ago(only tried for 2 weeks), the paint wasnt bad at all...and I was only asking $3500...and it had 165k on it back then...still couldnt sell it(wasnt very patient)

I am afraid to throw a $400 paint job at it...or even a $700 at Maaco...because if it looks good, I might just keep it...and I dont have the room!

But thanks for the advice...I'd just assume someone else bought it, and threw a paint job on it for $400-$700
they'd have what looks like a $6000 car, what runs like a $10k car...for less than a $3500 car.

wow craig if i had the money and means to get it here i'd buy it for that price, cuz i could paint it myself for 300 in materials and be done! i really want another mark bad, although i dont want a 1st gen again i would consider it!! good luck for that price i cant see you having it much longer.

Man that's a beautiful '94. I wish mine looked that good (the pics don't show the paint issues at all, but I know all about failing clear). It's nice to have an image of what it could be, and I'm definitely painting my grill and belt trim black after seeing how good it looks. I would have bought yours in a heartbeat if I had seen it when I was looking last spring.

Good luck on the sale.

Many of you have asked for pics with the Octastars.

today the Octastars get put on the 94, and I'll post a new picture. Our 97 LSC goes today...gonna be sad to see it go, but life goes on.

If you want to see what the car looks like with Octastars, you'll have to look at it yourself, Chad. I can give you the new owner's contact information if you'd like.

BTW folks, the car is considered SOLD.

The new owner will officially become the new PRESIDENT of Club 16 when the car is picked up.

I couldn't be any happier with who the car is going to. By far my number 1 choice of new owner, if it were up to me.

I didnt even make it to 6 years Max...5 1/2 almost to the day(7/8/03 was Black ice's homecoming)

we have plenty of customer cars, plus Tommy's still got 3 or 4 laying around I can abuse, should the urge appear.

Got new things on the horizon.
If these cars held their value at all, I wouldnt mind grabbing another one down the road...but it seems now they are cheap, and in pretty bad shape(un-maintained) or you end up paying for a clean one that you'll struggle to sell later.

some day...maybe.

But for now...yes, it's over.

I'm thrilled the car is going to be living under your care Chad.
I'll do everything I can to present it in the best condition it can be for the journey to its new home.

Thank you...I couldnt be happier.

see ya in a little over a week, Mr. President.
