forbidden access to my space...

Well, I finally got some server space here (thanks Kale, Alexander) and since I don't know much about personal web sites, I have a question. When I navigate to http://www.mark8.org/users/amajamark8 and try to access my page, I get a FORBIDDEN message. Why can't I access it this way? (I CAN access it through the FTP address) Thanks in advance!

RE: forbidden access to my space...

That's the way it's set up. It won't show you the files in the root directory. If you write a web page and save it as index.html in that folder, that page will pop up when you go to that address. Also, if you create folders, and link to the folder using http you will see the contents of the folder.

That's just telling you and everyone else that there's nothing there to see.

The server looks for an "index" file, usually named index.html. If you create a file named "index.html" and upload it to your amajamark8 directory, you will see the file instead of the "forbidden" message.

For example: http://mark8.org/users/Kale

I just uploaded an index file to my root directory.
