Ford Plate Decoder Help.

Can anyone identify or better yet, decode this plate found in a barn in New Jersey? No other information was available.

If it follows standard FOMOCO protocol, the E7 indicates the year 1987.

The letter D signifies the product line, in this case the LTD.

The following letter C signifies the source code, in this case Chassis Engineering, Powertrain and Chassis product Engineering.

It jsut might be a little older than that though. Most of the stuf in this shed is like from the 50s.

It does appear to be a chassis/driveline tag, and I would suspect it to be older from its appearance but I cannot explain away the "E7DC" code.

The best response that I've goten so far suggests that it's a plate from a 1987 Ford Catalytic converter.
