so i have been trying to to track down a trans mount for my car now for some time. i have called all of the parts places in my state and some out of state and can not find a trans mount besides from the dealer for $150. so i started looking on the inter net i went to the energy suspension web site and started looking at the mounts for the different ford V8 RWD cars. i finely found one for the 93 5.0 mustang GT the looked close. then i found the measurements for the bolt spacing and went out and it was the same for the marks. so i went to the parts place and picked up a mount for a 93 stang GT for $11.99 and bolted it right on. the mounts are not 100% the same but i had enough "slop" in the holes in my cross member and in the frame where the member bolts on to make up for it.

long story short for about 45 min of searching on the internet i saved about $138. i hope this will help any one out there with a broken trans mount that does not have the $150 for a new one from ford.

just ask for a 93 mustang GT with the 5.0 and automatic trans.

this could also help if you would like a hard polly mount for your car just order one for a 93 gt

im not trying to be a smart ass here but ive looked all over that site a few times and can not find them thats why i went looking other places. some one else told me that they had polly mounts there but i cant find them can you post a link to the page for them?

When I had my racing transmission built a couple years ago by the Bradshaw Brothers, they discovered that Ford no longer stocked the trans mount for the Mark. They were able to make one work from a fox body Mustang, and it has been doing great in my Mark ever since. :)

I did that one, those are just the cross member mounts which I actually burned out of the cross member because they were so stubborn. I had actually replaced the center trans mount in my 95 also but it is different than the t-bird unit.

I have been wondering about my mounts, and a clunking noise. A couple weeks ago when I was changing my transmission filter (on my back in the driveway....that sucked, never again) , I noticed the mounts looked kinda crappy, where they stick out under the transmission pan. They looked all worn, and were a bit torn. I didn't have time to mess with it that day, I had too much going on. Maybe I'll put it on the lift after work today and take a look.

yes the sn95 and the MN12 body cars use a strange peg leg looking trans mount. you want one from a fox body style car. all i had to do to make mine work is remove the weight box from the cross member and grind the slots a little bit longer. if you get under your car and look at the trans cross member there is what looks like a box around the trans mount bolts. this is just held to the member by 2 tabs just bend the tabs back it the box comes out. it sounds like it is full or shot gun shot im guessing to help with the vibes from the drive shaft. then i took my die grinder and made the slots longer and it bolted right in.

the mark mounts if you set the trans side of the mount on the ground and look down on it the bolt holes are not in line like they are on the mustangs thats why you need to make the slots longer. by removing the weight box from the member i have not found any new vibes from the car and i just lost about 2-3 lbs so ill go faster now lol.

those "mounts" that you see sticking under the pan are just steel weight incased in rubber and hung on the exhaust mount to help stop vibes. i say you could just about take a stock mark and take out all of the "vibe stoppers" and pick up a tenth or 2 in the 1/4. it seems like when ever ford found a vibe in the car they just hung some lead or steel on the part to stop the shakes.

Yeah, I figured that's what they were, either that or Ford wanted to put something there to piss us off when we are dropping the transmission pan. I took a look under there last night after work. The rubber is peeling off for some reason. The mount itself is fine.

Thanks. That's the one like I've been looking to buy from a different vendor. :)

Now that I know it'll work, I can buy with confidence.

it will fit but you have to cut the trans cross member a little bit. its hard to explain but once you get it out on the bottom side of the cross member there is a weight box. it is just held in by 2 tabs that are stuck through holes and bent over. just bend those tabs away and cut the slots that are already in the member a little longer they need to go towards the front of the car further. with the weight box in there the nuts will hit the sides so i just left mine out and i have not noticed any new vibes.
