So the front air bags just deflate at random times and are followed by "Check Air Ride System" message. I turn the suspension off and then back on and everything works for about a day then it starts all over again. Is there something that controls the front compressors, or is this a computer problem, any ideas? This started happening when the weather got to 30F and below, I'm not sure if that makes a difference. :(

Most likely you have a leak in the bags and they need to be replaced.

Most likely a leak. The air compressor is programmed to run for only 30 seconds. If the airbags are not fully inflated by then the compressor shuts off and the computer sends the Check Air Ride message. This happened on my MK VIII in cold weather also.If you turn off the key and turn it back on again the compressor should run and finish filling the air bags. This should also reset the message on the display.

If he keeps doing what you have suggested, he will eventually kill the compressor substaintially increasing the cost of repairs. The Compressor will run for 90 seconds and if it has not filled the bags and shut down because the bags are full, it will shut down to keep from overheating and frying itself. I do not know how long the typical MarkViii takes to fill bags, but mine is done in about 30-40 seconds dependant on temperature and weight inside the vehicle. If the original poster is not going to replace the bags, then the best choice would be not to drive it. The second choice would be to turn the air ride off, until he fixes it.

HOTLNC did the same thing. It was a problem with air leaks. In my case, the right side bag was leaking when it felt like it. I had replaced front valves, compressor and relay. But it was only fixed by replacement of the front struts.
