FYI

Well, I was hesitant to post this here, but since many of you know I went to NIH this week for my lung condition, I figured it's easier to post an update here than to have to e-mail or call so many people separately.

Basically - no change in my condition (which is a good thing).

I tell ya, though, that place is incredible. And someone I met told me that the building I was in, as soon as construction is completed, will be the 2nd largest government building in the US, 2nd only to the Pentagon.

RE: FYI

I didn't know. Never to late to wish you God-Speed to return to great health and to continue improving. Take good care yourself. I wish you the best, always!

RE: FYI

Thanks for the kind words, I didn't make it public knowledge before, but it gets hard to explain my absences and why I get sick so often. But Sandy, I told you about this a while ago. ;-) Actually, it's one of those things that will not improve, but I figure by participating in research, there's hope that during my lifetime they'll find a cure or treatment for it. Till then, no change is a very good thing. :)

RE: FYI

Sure, Brad. It's called lymphangioleiomyomytosis or LAM for short. There's some info here, if you are interested: http://lam.uc.edu/html/disease.html

I'm still in the very mild stage, and it doesn't effect me too much right now, but it is part of the reason I'm constantly taking naps. ;-)

RE: FYI

Wow, only a thousand women in the US have it and you get to be one of the (un)lucky ones? Still, if you're stuck with it, it's good of you to contribute to the research.

Glad to hear you're back!

RE: FYI

Oh yeah, you can count on me to be different and get something no one's heard of before. I feel pretty lucky, actually, in that it could have been worse, and just to see the advances they've made in research in the last couple years has my hopes up.

RE: FYI

Gee, What luck. Hope its gets better. I have a handicap parking thing, good until 2007 and you can have it. The only thing is its one from florida, but they have to respect it, just as if it was a out of state license plate

RE: FYI

"" I didn't know ""

I meant I didn't know you went into NIH THIS week. Still - I hope they find a cure, for you & others.

RE: FYI

/me sits back, lights up, inhales deeply, and hopes for the best

Sharon, baby, :) :) :) ...

(sorry, not sure what else to say)
