When I shut the key off my heater fan will go on full blast
so I pulled fan wire off but the battery still went dead

any ideas?

did some more searching when i kill power to the EATC the fan will go full power.

Im thinking bad logic in the EATC or is there a fan speed controller some where

I don't know how many of you noticed but try turning the ignition switch off slowly and right before you get to the off position you will notice it will kick the fan into high speed until you get it to the fully off position.

I first noticed this with my 96 Cougar and thought it was just some random fluke, but it does the same thing on my 96 Mark VIII.

I'm wondering if your problem is related to this phenomenon. Perhaps whatever is supposed to cut the power to the fan when the key is in the off position isn't working anymore which might indicate a bad ignition switch. This might also explain why when you pulled the power to the fan something else drained the battery. It could also be as simple as the ignition switch never made it to the fully off position but allowed you to take the key out.

Just a thought. :)

ive done some more testing some how the fan speed controller is staying hot when it shouldn't be after pissing with it all day it magically fixed it self but i think i have the problem down to a few wires
