Had The Mark Detailed For The MI Meet

My Atl Marauder friends had one of their own members that is a professional car detailer come to the ATL for a week to detail our cars. He resides in Chicagoland.

The Mark shines like never before :) I got the Stage IV Zaino 12 layer package from Jason.

My friend Todd at Grand Mufflers provided space for Jason and Ellie to work their magic. Here is a link to Jason's web site, and a link to a thread over at MCM of all the cars Jason has done this week. If you need your Mark detailed in Chicagoland, Jason is the man :)

I am ready to roll now to the MI meet :) You have to wear sun glasses now to look at the Mark

Wow, I wish there was a detail service like that around here.

Sure there is John... it's called the driller household! It's not that hard to do, the whole key is in the proper prep of the surface before polishing. If you look at the detail guys web site you can see his progression of products. The only thing I don't get is why he uses 6 coats of Z-6, usually one between polish layers is enough. Other than that his prices aren't bad for all the work he does.

Jason is a traveling detail guy. He was here in MI a while back.

We need to have him at the MI meet! :D

Sure... only problem is finding an entire day to do it. Plus I'm confident he
would be much more efficient and thorough at it than I. I get frustrated
with a simple wax job on the Blue Flame as it seems I find every small flaw
by the time I'm done.

Wow Mike do you do anything yourself??? :D You don't wash the car you don't work on it either!!!

That said Mark looks fantastic and it is a friggin BEAST!! When are those new wheels coming in again?

There's something about 12 layers that scares the heck out of me.... oh yeah, it's the 12 part.:D

Looks like it's worth it though, I can't wait to see it in person Mike.:)

This was the first time I ever had anyone fully detail my car. I always did it myself, and thought my results were real good. I was curious though, to see what a pro could do with the Mark.

Leo is telling the truth though, regarding the prep and application of product. Jason was able to bring out a shine and luster better than I ever was able to get.

The Mark had at least a dozen coats of Zaino on it when Jason got the car. He stripped it all off  and started from scratch. He used a product that he found at a trade show on the intercooler tubes, and they sparkle now too.

Would I do it again? Absolutely! :) Jason is very serious and professional about his work, and took me on a tour of everything he did, and noticed, on the Mark.

Jeremi, Thanks for the offer, but I was thinking more in line with one of those air conditioned bubbles for the Marks on whiner row :)

JP, I think that is a great idea to have a detailer at the gathering. A paintless dent remover person would be cool too.

Max, The older I get, the more selective I get on what projects are put on the DIY list. I still am the primary detailer of the Mark though. I need to replenish my towel supply, as I am down to my last 6 cotton diapers, and been wanting to switch over to Leo's towels for some time now. But since the Mark has been out of pocket for the first half of the year, I had not been going through the towels like I normally do :)

Aric has been using his engineering degree working with the Forgeline engineers to somehow get these wheels built. Forgeline says a standard Cobra caliper will work fine in the front, but the Cobra R Brembo calipers will not fit the rim.

So, they are going back and forth right now to see what they can do. Plan B is going with another company that offers a wheel with more arch in the spokes to fit the Brembos.

BTW guys I could have a paintless dent removal guy at the meet. I was hoping to remove one nasty dent on the CE, I am sure there would be others interested. He comes recomended by Darryll (the guy with the convertible) so I'm sure he does good work. Who's in ?

Unfortunately I don't think Jason is coming back to MI anytime soon :frown:

Just dont get it rained on or wash it, Zaino is a polish, not a wax.

That statement isn't quite true. Zaino also protects and seals. If it didn't you wouldn't be able to layer it to get the effect. All I use is Zaino and Moose is very well protected! Water beads for months, even bird poop bombs slide off easily.

I would also recommend the new Zaino Z-CS. Just apply a very thin layer of this clear sealant, leave it dry and that's it, no buffing needed. It adds an amazing extra sheen to the paint.

Looks great Mike, and I added Jason's name to my favorites list to hopefully use him in the future.

Jeremi, if I can convince hubby to fork over the cash, I do have at least one minor dent I'd love removed.
