High Idle

For some reason my 93 mark has a high idle when it is running. I think it is my TSP. I was just wondering if anybody else has had this problem before. Thanks

IACV-Idle Air control valve.... a pain to get to on a Gen 1 Mark VIII.

You may want to dry running some sea-foam through the car first.

Looks easy in the drawing, but that part sits right up against the firewall. Near impossible to get a wrench on one of the bolts.

it's RIIGHT inbetween the colon and the prostate..its "not a fun job".
even "Jeff the Gnome" had a hard time with the one on his car.

it's on the passenger side of the throttle body in a nearly inaccessible location.

Tip... remove the throttle body(4 bolts) for a tad bit better access.

If you do - you'll need a throttle body gasket.

Also, once the throttle body is off, tape the opening over or stuff a rag in the plenum opening to prevent foreign objects finding their way into the intake.
