i decided to change the hood on my 93 because the paint on the car is gorgeous, but somewhere along the line someone repainted the hood and did a horrible job on the body work, all the urethane that bonds the inner and outer shell of the hood was showing through the paint and there were 2 spots where the paint was cracked and ready to chip off. so i just took apart another 93 deep jewel green with mocha at my shop and the hood was great on it so i took it off the car and put it on mine today. i clay bar'd the hood and waxed it. bill was curious how the different batches of paint from one car to the next would match, well its dead nuts. its hard to get a good pic with the camera between the hood and fender but its perfect. i also went and installed my sensatrac's in the rear, changed out the rear bags cuz one was leaking, and i flushed the radiator and block out of the old coolant and gave her some fresh antifreeze. im getting there, soon this car will be another beauty, its not far off. i also snagged the whole set of floor mats from the car i parted. pretty rare to get a junker and find all 4 mats in it!! bonus.

Thanks Jamie!:D

Somehow, I knew that it would look great.:)

Years ago (oh no, here comes a story) I worked at the Fisher Body Fleetwood Plant. We built the bodies for Cadillacs. The body didn't include the front fenders or hood. The rest of the car was built down the road at the Clark street plant (Cadillac Motor Division).

The Fleetwood plant would send containers of the same batch of paint that was used on the body to be used at the Cadillac plant for the fenders and hood on that car.

It looks like the color technology has advanced far beyond this.:)
