I put on 245/50/16's all the way around, yokohama avs es100's in the front and nitto nt555r drag radials out back. I sensor lowered the car just a little, to avoid excessive wheel gap. You couldn't tell the car was lowered if i didn't tell you, which is how i want it (you know, that sleeper look ).
The tires look great and perform even better. With just a wee little burnout, i can now floor it from a dead stop (with 4.10's and a 3200 stall) with zero wheelspin. It just snaps your head back and goes.
I haven't driven it in the rain yet, as i plan on avoiding the rain as much as possible anyway (no reason to beat up the lincoln if i have a blazer to drive to work). But i did try a hard launch from wet pavement, and was surprised at the performance. I got some wheel hop, but the car still launched pretty hard.
The car still rides good (although that doesn't matter all that much to me), and it corners like hell too. I've yet to hear the front tires squeal in a turn, and i've been trying. With the drag radials, i can even floor it around a turn and not have to worry about the tail trying to beat the nose around the turn. All in all, great performance. I was somewhat concerned about getting some wandering on rutted pavement, but so far no problems. Of course, the tires are still brand new, so they might deteriorate as they age. Let's hope not, though, i hate it when the car wants to pull all over the road, my last tires did that.
