I looked up on a price for a transmission for a 93 mark viii on jasper. And heres what I got.
**Installation Information: TR/MLPS (Neutral Safety Switch Sensor)
can cause failure. Installer must verify that their existing trans
switch has part # F5AZ-7A247AA. If not this part#, it must be
replaced or warranty is void.
1. The snap ring on the intermediate clutch is replaced with wrap
ring and staked retainer (original would pop off) -- prevents snap
ring popping off, intermediate sprag failure, and unit failure.
2. The first/second accumulator and springs are updated for extended
life. Updated 1-2 accumulator piston (aluminum piston wears case)
--to prevent case wear, delayed engagements, harsh 1-2 shift, and 2nd
clutch failure. Also, 100% updated 2-3 accumulator piston to prevent
harsh 2-3 shift and 3rd clutch failure.
3. Latest EPC solenoid and latest solenoid clips for improved
pressure control.
4. POLICE APPLICATIONS & OTHER HIGH PERFORMANCE UNITS: Have a 4 plate
intermediate clutch for higher torque capacity and premature failure.
They also have a 6 plate direct clutch.
5. POLICE APPLICATIONS & HIGH PERFORMANCE UNITS: have the latest
mechanical diode (also all 98 and up 4R70W) to prevent intermediate
sprag failure.
6. All units have a 6 plate direct clutch for durability.
7. Rooster comb modified on Police units to keep from dropping into
Low on run (intermediate sprag failure).
8. The extension housing gasket is updated for longer life.
9. 100% Boost valve kit replacement (high wear item) --prevents
delayed reverse, reverse shudder, and poor reverse boost.
10. 100% pressure regulator valve replacement (high wear item) --to
prevent low low line pressure rise. soft shift, and delayed
engagement.
11. 100% bypass converter clutch sleeve and plunger valve (high wear
items) --prevents delayed lock-up , no lock- up, and shudder
condition.
12. Case, valve body, and pump assembley are checked for flatness to
prevent cross leaks that cause low pressure, binding, and unit
failure.
13. All bushing and thrust surfaces are finished to 15RA or less to
prevent bushing wear, washer wear, fluid contamination, and unit
failure.
14. Transmission is tested with control volume of air before the
valve body is installed to prevent minor circuit leaks that can lead
to performance problems.
15. Converter is remanufactured on a state-of-art converter
aligner/welder to keep hub run out to .010 of an inch or less (OEM is
.015 of an inch)---prevents pump bushing wear, front seal leaks, and
vibrations.
16. New line bored pump bushing or bore guaged pump bushing to keep
bushing concentric and better bushing to converter hub contact to
prevent front seal leaks, noisy pump, and fluid contamination.
Does this sound like it has all the upgrades? Its price is just over 2k . I am paying under 1/16th of that. He said the jasper was made for a 94 and it was made around 2005 - I will call them with a serial number to get more info.
