Let the old school stereo install begin!

Well the parts are starting to come together, within the next couple of weeks I should be able to take vacation and rip out the carpet(replacing it with new!) and start the running of wires! I'm going to just run a simple system, 4 amps:
2 - 2 channel amps each one bridged to one sub
1 - 2 channel amp running the front mids
1 - 2 channel amp running the front tweeters
the the HU will run the rear fill speakers.

Going to start by upgrading the battery and alt and redoing all of the grounding wires for the car(which by the way should be on alot of Mark 8 owners lists of things to do since our cars are getting up in age!) Then with the carpet out running the cabling(power, gounds, remote leads, RCAs and speakers wires) I already have the HU, I have an old Audiocontrol EQX which is a x-over and eq in one, oh and I have a couple of old school pioneer amps:

I got 2 10" Kicker subs, a set of MB Quart 6.5" mids, and I'm still trying to find a set of tweets I like, the the rears are going to be Infinity 2-way 6x8". Simply but it should sound good. Ill post more pics as I go for you all!!

More control out of multiple amps, one amp just the tweeter, one for just the mids and then 2 for the 2 subs, this way I can completely control the gains and cut off of the cross over for each speakers. Then I'm just going to run the rears off just the headunit. I'm not just running and front and rear speakers.

I'm just teasing :D

That is a really good idea....good think you're tearing out the carpet, man that would suck to fish all those wires through!

ehh...I installed stereos professionally for 4-5 years so its no real big deal to me. I would have probably taken the carpet out to clean it anyway if I wasn't just replacing it.
