Are motorcraft parts that much better/last longer than the cheaper replacement parts? They cost a bit more but if they are alot more reliable id rather spend the money and be safe.

Particulary when it comes to suspension parts, they are far better than what you find on e-bay.. Every mfgr has vendors which supply parts to them, so while parts might not say "FoMoCo", I have bought parts at places like NAPA and they had the FoMoCo logo on them. Some general service parts like oil filters etc are made to mfgr specs, and I always use Motorcraft instead of say, Fram etc. Just stay with the well known mfgrs and you should be ok.

I can tell you it is a fact when it comes to
Alternators
Suspension components

I haven't had other experiences with them though.

On other forums I've heard good things about MOOG suspension parts. Aside from the strut rod bushing, do the MOOG suspension parts hold up well in our Marks?

Yes, MOOG is a top suspension component supplier. They have even addressed the strut rod bushing issue, but tracking down all those defective parts can be tricky, and some may still be out there.

So where would you rank them in relation to Motorcraft?

Based mostly on 2nd hand knowledge, I'd say MOOG has a better rep, and they do purposely build their stuff to a much stronger spec than OEM, which is where Motorcraft pretty much stands.

Personally, I have rebuilt the entire front ends of two Marks with all MOOG parts and logged many thousands of miles without a hitch - save for those dang defective strut rod bushings.

With MOOG, I shouldn't have to rebuild my front end for at least another 100k miles.
