My lincoln afterwards

I'm glad you're ok!! I know dealing with insurance companies stinks. I haven't figured out their math vs reality yet . We all have to pay them a fortune to have proper coverage, but get such poor treatment when it's time for them to do what we pay them for.
 
Ok,heres an odd twist.The mere question asked about keeping the car automatically was treated as a settlement statement followed by settlement paperwork,Then they said they refused to settle with me period....No compensation for car,no payment for medical bills,no rental car,no loss of usage.Nothing,zilch,nada!!!

That's wild! I am stunned. So glad you have an attorney. Hope you get all you want/deserve and quickly.
 
My attorney called the insurance people while I was in his office.Now all of a sudden they want to play nice.I really did not want to have to retain an attorney for mediation.All I wanted was another 700 dollers to cover my new fuel pump/level sending unit,600 dollers in new tires,a new drive shaft
and a new air strut.All of that plus labor was a lot more that 700 dollers but I was willing to negotiate in good faith or try to create some good will from a bad situation.My attorney said the circumstances are so bad that his insurance company will now really want to work with me towards a fair settlement.You know,I would really appreciate someone just saying,Mr Godby were sorry about what happend to you and were here to help you.My attorney said,dont hold your breath waiting for it.
What a world!On the flip side,I looked at a low mileage 94 today.Its clean and the price is right so Im going back tomorrow for a test drive.If it passes muster I guess Im gonna get it
 
Good luck Mr. Godby. Just don't forget that people you hire to do things for you will tell you what you want to hear!! Do not take for gospel what they SAY, only what they end up doing! In other words, don't spend your money before you get it! It could be years before you see anything and the lawyers will end up making more than you......
 
Point well taken!As of now no parties are talking to each other or making nice in any fashion,how sad to see a bad situation made worse by peoples selfish egos.My attorney has been doing law in this area for an eternity and is very well connected.Both his partners are ex-judges so I have decided to take my resolve and wait it out.In the mean time I have been looking for a clean 95-96.The last candidate was clean on the outside and has low miles but the interior is toast.
