Nice Forum guys!

I recently purchased a 99' Continental. The Donnelly rear view mirror was defective, so I purchased a used one which was identical in appearance and model number (012017). I found the stock mirror has an 8 pin connector and the replacement has a 7 pin connector.
Can someone please provide me with the Continental wiring diagram (cell 125) or advise the pin assignment. Thanks!

Dan, I've worked for Ford/ Lincoln since 1980 and I've never heard the term "Donnelly mirror" in my life! That model number in no way resembles anything Ford or Lincoln has ever used. Perhaps it's a proprietary manufacturer's ID stamp on the mirror?

Barry gave you the wiring and here's the connector pinout:

Thanks guys! Sorry for the confusion, Magna Donnelly manufactured the mirror. The Ford/Lincoln part # is XF3Z5403100AA. From looking at the wiring diagram/pinout, I should be able to re-wire the 7 pin mirror and keep all of the functions except the one that dims the outside drivers mirror in conjunction with the rear view mirror. Actually, I don't care that much for the auto-dimming function of the mirror.

Hi, I too am having an issue with the rearview mirror in my 99 Continental.

the mirror has what I can only describe as a bubble in it that is about 2 1/2 inches wide and half an inch high that moves around the face of the mirror changing shape slightly and I am also getting a fogging in the rest of the mirror.

my mirror is also 8 pin and I am looking for a used one to replace it.

Does any one know what the problem with the mirror is?

Sounds like the stuff they use to dim the mirror actually puddled into one place on ya. I got an 8-pin off of eBay for $119 (BIN Price)..I could have gotten it cheaper probably but there were others bidding on it and it was the only one up there.

Just took my old cracked one off, plugged this one in and good to go. He sent the entire harness with (which I didn't need to use), in case you have a 7-pin I guess you could have used the harness....or maybe not...lol.

Search on eBay balabay, they are hit and miss. Just make sure you get the right pin count and it doesn't say in the auction, make sure you ask. :) After years of use, the liquid inside leaks internally and causes the staining of the mirror.
