New Rear Shocks

My new rear shocks arrived yesterday and they just went in. The old one on the driver's side had a completely destroyed bushing along with no rebound at all. The passenger side was very soft , but did rebound slowly. It still had a good bushing. They were originals since they still had the solenoid on top. Can I disconnect it or should I leave it connected? Any way, I had ordered a set of Monroe Sensatracs from American Air Ride, but the shocks were drop shipped from Strut Masters. They shipped me a set of Gabriel Ultras. The solid shock mounts were nice and came with cone top bushings that I had to press in; very easy. Then, once the shocks were installed, you tightened the nut to spread the tops to lock it all in place. It all went smoothly and the ride is now very good.
But compared to no rear shocks, anything would feel better. But, compared to my new Rabbit which was stolen 6 months ago, it does feel stiffer with much less body roll in my short test run. It does seem to feel more connected to the road than the Rabbit. But, it might be the longer wheel base since the Rabbit could fly over any road, but it let you know where everything was because it was light with a short wheel base and anything would throw it around. The Rabbit would get air regularly, but it didn't care. It just powered through it all; FWD. This car seems to let you know where everything is, but nothing throws it around, it flows through it all faster than the Rabbit. I haven't done the sway bar yet. The fronts do feel softer than the backs and they do need to be changed eventually. I presume that the new fronts will be tighter. I don't know about about cornering yet, but it felt quicker than the Rabbit. I need the new rear sway bar too.
I like it.
