To be honest with you Trixie, those are not my favorites, I see beat up Honda Civics on those around here all the time. How much are they charging you per rim? You can get very nice wheels for $150-200 a piece. If you want 17" or smaller probably in the low 100s.

Personally, I like the design, but it really is an individual taste issue.

As for the quality of the wheel, American Racing is very good. All wheels are checked with a flouroscope (x-rays that look for voids in the aluminum) and the chrome plating process is also good. It won't flake off.

I used to be a quality engineer for them.

Max, I have no idea what they're charging me, but insurance will cover it. I definitely don't like these rims as much as the ones I have, but I do like a more "girly" look than 5 spokes, so they're growing on me....;)

Wayne, thanks for the quality input. That does mean a lot.

I don't know - maybe sometime in the future I'd just upgrade to 17" when I need new tires and pick something else?

Sharon, I like the other ones better as well. Though, these are nice. Maybe if we could see a shot with them on the car??????

Sharon, keep in mind that 17" rims will give you clearance for the "Cobra" brake swap. It may be a good time to upgrade. (Since JP is outrunning you now, get the brakes and brag about outstopping JP :+ :+ )

Nice idea Jeff, but I just can't afford to also have to replace my tires now too. It'd only be three tires, but that's still more money than I can afford to put into the car right now. Then again... you've got me thinking now....

Hi Sharon,
I would for sure go back to stock ones before I put something on the car I had not seen on their before. I am not to fond of them, however it is personal taste. But I would for sure go with the stock ones right now.

The shop must have been closed today I tried calling to check on a couple things, but I honestly don't want to go back to stock. 1st - I have the base model, so I'm sure the insurance company would know my stock rims aren't chrome, and 2nd - even if they went for the chromes, they'd only pop for used ones and I'd be nervous about corrosion and stuff.

Since this shop is the one who picked my last rims and I loved them, I'm going to give these a chance. If I really don't like them, I can save up, and then when it's time for new tires, go for 17". When I get pics on the car, I'll show them, and then people can see in person, and if she's just a total mess to look at, I'm sure I can find some stock rims to use til I can replace all rims/tires.

I think the stock ones on your car looked great, in my opinion those wheels you showed us look cheap, if the wheel has to grow on you then you'll prolly not like it later
Keep looking, don't get in a hurry find somthing you really like, those chrome cobra wheels look pretty good :)

The wheels I had were aftermarket, and I really did like them. I didn't have time to shop around, as I needed a rim, and the shop convinced the insurance company to cover all 4. So I had to get something, and this was what was holding up my car from being completed.

I'm not all that thrilled with them. I think they're OK. I don't know what I'll do now/future. If things work out, maybe one day I can move up to 17's.
