New tires -- What a difference

I had to replace my old General's since I had a bad belt inside one of the tires. And since I only had 5/32 left of tread I decided to jump for a new set of tires.
I went with these:

All I have to say is what a difference these tires make. It's almost like driving a new car. No more shimmy in the rear, no more pulling to the right. These tires grip the road like fingers on a hot dog bun.
$600 out the door at Discount Tire. :)

I love new tires! Don't you? :)

I was so tired of driving on the worn out drag radials that were so unbalanced(wonder why?). It was such a relief driving on new tires.

I like the Goodyear brand. I chose the the cousin of the GoodYear TripleTred, the GoodYear ComforTred, for the TownCar. Nice ride.

Too bad they don't make a high speed low-profile version.

The wear rating, price and handling characteristics are awesome.

I think $600 for stock sized tires is way too much money. But if you achieved all the results you were wishing for it is worth it.

When you get a chance, post some pics of the new tires on your car. I love the way the tread looks on those!

Look at these Mitchlin's...I had them put on my work vehicle (Gran Marquis) and loved them. I swore then that when the Mk VIII needed new tires, these will be the ones. http://www.tirerack.com/survey/Surv...E&vehicleSearch=true&fromCompare1=yes&place=7

That G.M. would hydroplane on spit!! Once these were on, I could drive through a lake (!) and not (might be a slight exageration).
Anyway, I was trying to buy the Assurance for the G.M., but they were not available then, so got the HydroEdge and never looked back.
