It wouldn't hurt to put a couple of qts in it and then install it into the front pump.
Once it's all back together, put about 4qts of fluid in the trans. Start and run the motor for about 30 sec. Then add more fluid with the motor off. The front pump will suck the fluid out of the trans and into the converter until the converter is full.
So to recap:
2qts in the converter when installed.
4qts in the trans before start up.
Run motor for 30sec.
4qts in the trans again
Run motor for 30sec.
Add 1 to 2 more qts.
Now you can run the motor just fine and shift trans w/ foot on brake from Park to Drive to Reverse to Drive and back to Park.
Check fluid while motor is running and top off.
You will need 14qts total.
You are going to push compressed air thu the cooler lines to flush them before you hook them to the trans. Correct?
