Hi everyone,

Name is Joe P. I am the new owner of a 1976 Lincoln Mark IV. Red, white top, white interior (red lipstick piping).


I will be driving her back from Seattle this September (to Central New York).

I also own a 1968 Galaxie 500 Convertible, all black 302.



How long does it take to get your membership card? I need to insure my Lincoln ASAP so I can get plates for her, and they require a club membership, hence, I am a new member of the Lincoln of Distinction club!

Eh, gas is gas. I didn't buy my Galaxie to cut down on my commuting costs. The Lincoln was a gift from an Uncle in Washington, and it's a great excuse to drive across the country.

They way I figure it, if gas really sky-rockets, at least I can say I drove across the country. If gas drops, then I'll do it again.

But I am still very curious about the turn around time for a membership card of some sort, anyone have experience? I paid my dues.

Most issuers of classic car insurance don't require a club membership. I use Grundy for my '79 Mark V, and they have no such requirement. What insurance company, or broker, wants a club membership?

It usually takes about 2 weeks to get your letter/card. You "member" status on here should be instant after acknowledgment of your Paypal.

I'm not positive who sends out the membership cards, maybe either JP (Driller) or Jerry (HOTLNC), so perhaps you could PM them and ask if they could "rush" yours for your needs, or provide some other way of providing quick proof of your joining the club.

I received a PM from JoeDozer and replied.

As Membership Secretary, Jerry(HOTLNC) handles sending out the new member welcome packages which includes a membership card.
